Welcome


As a traditionally trained psychiatrist, I have come to realize that poor nutrition can often mimic psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety and other illnesses. There is increasing medical evidence that chronic inflammation from poor nutrition can lead to multiple diseases and improving nutrition and decreasing inflammation can help your body to heal itself. An integrative approach to nutrition, exercise, stress management, spirituality, family and relationships allows individuals to achieve optimal health and thereby allow their bodies natural homeostatic mechanisms to return them to a state of health and wellness.

My goal is to optimize your mental and physical health and help you develop fulfilling relationships with others and joy in your work. Some individuals may not achieve full recovery despite optimizing their health, however, studies have shown that if medication continues to be necessary, they usually do well on lower doses and with fewer relapses. 

I have studied all the major dietary theories and will help you discover what approach works best for you at this point in your life.
While most dietitians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of good and bad foods, I work with individuals to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline. I offer a six month program designed to treat individuals who are overweight or obese through a combination of  changes in eating behaviors, exercise, stress reduction and psychotherapy for families, adolescents and adults.

No one diet works for everyone. I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals.

Welcome to Our Group Program.

In our 6 month 12 session program you will create a personalized program that will radically improve your health and happiness. Together, we’ll explore concerns specific to you and your body and discover the tools you need for a lifetime of balance.

During the course of the program you will:

·  Understand and reduce cravings

·  Increase energy

·  Feel better in your body

·  Improve personal relationships

·  Manage Stress effectively

The Group Program Includes:
 

Two, 90 minute group sessions per month

Handouts and other materials

Food samples and self-care products

E-mail support between sessions  

A monthly newsletter


The Group is led by:


Dr William P. Hayes and Mary E. Hayes, MA who provide lifestyle counseling with a focus on nutrition, exercise, relationship counseling and stress management to optimize your heath. They are both graduates of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
They have studied all the major dietary theories and will help you discover what approach works best for you at this point in your life. As your health couselors they will be your advocates for living an energized and passionate life. They will work with you to hepl you create happy, health, lives in a way that is flexible and fun. We will work together to discover the food snd lifestyle choices that best support you. Making gradual lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals
