Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry

Dr. Amy Parikh completed her medical education at Touro College of Osteopathic Medical School and then completed Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Westchester Medical Center, affiliated with NY Medical College.  As an Osteopathic Physician, she embraces the philosophy that the mind, body, and spirit are interrelated and utilizes the patient centered approach when treating patients.  She is a well-rounded, globally minded Psychiatrist, treating the person as a whole, and not just focusing on the disease.  During Residency, she received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award.   She has presented on various topics in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry such as Autism, Eating Disorders, Childhood Anxiety, and Psychopharmacology.  This demonstrates her commitment to keeping up to date on the latest evidence based guidelines in order to provide optimal care for her patients.  

Dr. Parikh has extensive experience and interest in working with children and adolescents with mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma related disorders, behavioral issues, school issues, eating disorders, and substance abuse.    In the public sector, she has collaborated with different agencies such as schools, child protective services, group homes, residential treatment facilities, and state hospitals to unsure her patients received the appropriate level of care and services.  She is an advocate for her patients and determined that they receive the best care possible.

Dr. Parikh was raised on Long Island, NY, and lived in NJ for six years while completing her pre-medical courses and medical education at Touro College. She is excited to be back in NJ working with ARA’s multidisciplinary team.  She is enthusiastic and dedicated in delivering compassionate, high quality care to the community of Princeton, NJ.
