Alexander Road Associates is a fee-for-service practice and does not participate with insurance plans. For your convenience, we do accept credit cards and checks. In order to help you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, we will provide you bills with approved diagnostic and service codes.  Our secretarial staff are happy to provide you with computerized printouts of all dates of service if you ever misplace bills. The therapist or physician's signature on the bill when attached to your Health Insurance Claim Form (HCFA) allows for submitting the form without the doctors signature on the HCFA form.

After many years of experience in providing services under managed mental health care plans, we have concluded that it is not in the best interest of our patients to contract with them.  Managed mental health care companies often dictate the amount of time and frequency of therapy that therapists are able to provide.  At Alexander Road Associates, we believe that the decisions regarding the length of therapy sessions and frequency of therapy should be made by the individuals and families receiving treatment in consultation with their therapist.

Many managed mental health care plans insist on brief medication visits of ten minutes duration or a 90862 coded visit. At Alexander Road Associates, we believe that the complexity of medication management with children, adolescents and adults as well as the need to coordinate treatment with parents requires a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes or a 90805 code.  This is consistent with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry treatment guidelines and we are proud to provide this high quality care.
